Officers found the body of Angela Russo dumped in a desert in Tonopah, a town about 50 miles west of Phoenix, on May 25, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said.

Russo, 24, was last seen April 19 driving her father’s blue Honda Accord, police said. Her cause of death has not been determined, but police said her body showed “significant evidence of foul play,” according to AZCentral.

An Arizona woman who disappeared last month was found dead in a shallow grave, and a married man she apparently met through online dating has been arrested for her murder, police said.

On Sunday, police arrested Lashawn Johnson, 25, and charged him with first-degree murder for Russo’s slaying.

Johnson was already in jail for an unrelated charge of not showing up to court for an assault case.
